Project of 10 semi-detached houses in zona Aurelia-Rome

This project deals with the demolition and reconstruction of some exiting sheds by keeping the same shape; for this reason restrictions were quite strong. As a matter of fact , we worked to give the project the “home-feeling” compatible with the new residential use. We therefore used natural materials such as hard limestone rock with natural quarry split and wood. The insert of some glass volumes, whose function is greenhouse and winter garden, underlines the eco-sustainability of the intervention and allows the building to mediate between everyday life spaces of the inside and the outside.

The residential complex consists of three block of buildings: two one-storey, semi-detached houses with different dimensions and a basement each, and a two-storey block with six living units and a basement. The whole complex has a communal area, brought to life by a central fountain.
